Dr Ladouce

Dr. Simon Ladouce is a cognitive neuroscientist whose research aims to advance our understanding of attention, vigilance, and performance in high-stakes environments—particularly in aviation. His work integrates wearable brain and body sensing technologies to study cognitive functioning during real-world tasks. After completing his PhD at the University of Stirling (UK), Dr. Ladouce worked on the development of Brain-Computer Interface systems designed to support pilots during flight operations, with a focus on cockpit interactivity and preventing lapses of attention.

Bridging neuroscience and aeronautical engineering, his research explores how physiological markers of mental state can inform the design of adaptive and assistive technologies in aviation. Dr. Ladouce has published in leading neuroscience journals and remains committed to translating scientific insights into innovative solutions that improve human performance, safety, and decision-making in complex operational settings.

András Pintér

András Pintér is a highly experienced professional pilot with over 19,000 flight hours. With a deep passion for aviation—from the smallest aircraft to the largest—he has dedicated much of his career to training and mentoring pilots. As both a flight deck and simulator examiner, András plays a key role in maintaining the highest standards of flight safety and proficiency. He currently serves as a commander and training pilot on the Boeing 777, the world’s largest twin-engine aircraft, and has also flown the iconic Boeing 747.

Dr Laura Carey

Dr. Laura Carey is a lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland, with research expertize in perceptual-cognitive performance. Her work focuses on the use of eye-tracking and electroencephalogram (EEG) technologies to investigate the cognitive and neural mechanisms that underpin expert performance in sport.

She is a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered practitioner psychologist and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS). Dr. Carey has over 15 years of experience in elite sport, having supported athletes at major international events including the Olympic Games (2012, 2016), World Championships (2008–present), and Commonwealth Games (2010, 2014, 2018).

Alongside her academic and applied work, Dr. Carey contributes significantly to the quality assurance of higher education programmes. She has substantial experience evaluating institutions and training programs against national competency standards and professional benchmarks, ensuring high-quality education and regulatory compliance across the sector.
